From orphans to widows to families with children of all ages, UpB4theSon has been able to bless many through the donors and volunteers that make it possible. Here are just some examples of the lives that have been changed ...
A family of 5, with a mom who has lupus. She lost her job and got so far behind on bills, they went 4 months without gas or hot water! We paid their bill, helped her find a job and are getting them financial counseling.
A teen girl with Spina Bifida, sleeping on the couch for two years! We were able to bless her with a real bed!
A family who moved here cross country for Dad's hourly wage job, with SIX boys between the ages of 11 and 16! NO beds! After rent and deposit, they had no money to ship their things here. Thanks to our amazing donors, they no longer have to sleep on the floor.
Young Orphans in need. We are involved in an ongoing basis with two sets of siblings. Both had fathers die suddenly and unexpectedly at a very young age. Both have mothers unable/unwilling to raise the kids. Both now live with Grandparent(s) who struggle mightily to pay bills and feed the kids.

A Vet going blind, with no transportation or food, and living in a flea bag motel room on Central. We connected him with those able to provide an affordable, safe place to live, eye surgeries, and personal assistants to help him cook, clean, and grocery shop.
A 26 yr old woman, whose husband left her a few weeks before their first child was born. We got her formula and newborn diapers, as well as all the baby gadgets like swings, rockers, bottles, etc.
We were able to replace 10 beds at Teen Challenge that they had been using for 30 years! | WE also provided eight beds to the Freedom House, a refuge for women escaping the sex trafficking industry. | Shelters like Albuquerque rescue mission, St Martin's and others now come to us when they need beds for those they are helping.

In one case, Grandma Eunice (age 42) who still has two kids of her own at home, took in three grandchildren, all under age 11. She was packing all five children into a two bedroom apartment. She is a Home Healthcare Worker, so only makes a small wage. We provided the first months rent and deposit (about $1,500 all together) on a three bedroom home, so she could afford to get into a better situation. We also helped her get legal custody of the kids, get Social Security set up for them, etc. as well as providing them with a wonderful Christmas, with gifts, food, etc. We have provided clothing, school supplies and gift cards for groceries throughout the year.

In another, Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Don have taken in 4 grandchildren, all under age 11. They struggle with feeding the kids on one income, and also have two adult sons still living with them at home. We provide groceries, clothes, school supplies, Christmas gifts, etc.
We got a call from Grandma that Jared Jr was heartbroken because he really wanted to play Little League Football, but the fee was an impossible $135! We paid his fee, and he sends me Facebook messages whenever he scores a touchdown. |
We have also helped a large number of other families in need, especially through Christmas. A mom of three with breast cancer, a mom of two adult special needs sons who lives on disability, etc.
The Bed Ministry is our main focus, but we help with all sorts of issues, whenever we are able. Check out this short video of the surprise we gave a foster mom with seven kids!
