UpB4 the Son Ministries and Charities is registered with the State of NM, (Public Regulation Commission) and the IRS as a 501c3 Non Profit. Steve Stucker is the President and Founder, with a board of 6 others, including David Vilar, Rose Stucker, Vince Harrison, Kristi Stiegler, Kelli Bickett and Nevin Montaño.
We work with a small budget, and an all volunteer board and staff, with the exception of three part-time employees.
All our money comes from donations or fund raising events. We receive no government funds.
While we are clearly a Christian Ministry, we serve anyone who has a need that we are able to meet, without regard to sex, race, nationality, ethnicity, religious or political beliefs. We carefully select and work with faith-based and secular organizations that fit in with our philosophy of being the working hands and feet of Jesus, by helping those in spiritual and financial need.
The bulk of our time & effort is focused on our largest branch of service, Beds4Kidz. We provide clean, comfortable beds (most are gently used), free of charge, to those who need them. We have moved over 20,000 people, who were sleeping on the floor...into a bed of their own! None of them pay us a penny. We have provided multiple beds for organizations like Children, Youth & Family Division of NM, Adult Protective Services, Methodist Children's Home, Dream Center, Steelbridge, Faith Works, PBJ Family Services, U Turn 4 Christ, Teen & Adult Challenge, The Dream Center, Saranam, APS Title One Program, Bernalillo County Sheriffs Department Family Services, counselors from local schools, and many others.
We work with single parents, domestic violence victims, human trafficking survivors, those dealing with cancer and other life shattering health issues, foster/adoptive parents, grandparents taking in grandchildren, & intact families struggling through job loss, fires, and other paralyzing issues.
Most important...ALL these people are told we are doing this because of our love for Jesus, and our desire to serve Him, for all He has done for us. We pray for them and WITH them. We refer those who are interested to a church, give them Bibles and offer our counsel, guidance and referrals to other organizations. We follow up with free linens, blankets, pillows, and so forth, and try to stay in touch to monitor other needs and make connections with those who may be able to help.
